False Accept Rate of Fingerprint Medium High - 1 in 100,000
The False Accept Rate is the
probability of receiving a false
accep
tance decision when comparing
fingerprints scanned from different
fingers.
You can select one of the fo
llowing
FAR val
ues:
* Medium (1 in 10,000)
* Medium High (
1 in 100,000)
* High (1 in 1,000,000)
For example: if you select Medium
High, on average, one f
alse
acceptance will occur when a
fingerprint is compared against one
hundred thousand fingerprints scanned
from different fingers.
The higher the setting, the lower the
chance of receiving a false
a
cceptance. However, at the High
setting, the system may r
eject
legitimate fingerpr
ints.
NOTE
: The FAR is set on a per
verification basis. When matching a
finger
print against fingerprints of
multiple users (identificati
on), the
internally used FAR is automa
tically
adjusted to maintain the same
effective FAR as wa
s selected for a
single m
atch.
