Introduction to Dell System Update
This chapter provides insights on why Dell System Update is used and providing various components updates for Linux and
Microsoft Windows operating systems.
Dell System Update is a script-optimized update deployment tool that you can use to apply Dell EMC updates such as
applications, firmware, and drivers for Linux, and Microsoft Windows operating systems. With this tool, you identify the available
updates, select, and deploy on a single system or multiple systems using your operating system or Integrated Dell Remote
Access Controller (iDRAC) or pass-through. It is designed in a way it works both in online and offline mode to use the updates
available in the catalog or repository and applying the same updates to the system. Using scripts, Dell System Update can
automate the update management.
