1 Release Type and Definition This document contains updated information about Dell System Update version 1.9.1.0 DELL EMC System Update (DSU) is a software designed to facilitate the application of updates on various Dell systems. Using DSU you can: ● Identify the available updates, select the relevant updates, and deploy the updates on multiple systems. ● Maintain consistency in terms of interface and versions across Operating Systems, Repositories, and Systems.
What is new in this release The following topic provides information about the new features that are supported in the current release. ● Proxy is used when user tries to connect to repository or get updates by user configured proxy only with online or downloads.dell.com repository. ● Support for https connection using the certificate with catalog or source location. Also, https is used to get repository and catalog details.
2 Fixes This chapter provides information on the current release fixes The below points are the fixes provided for the current release: ● ● ● ● ● ● Changes to the temp folder location to Dell System Update working directory. Fields specific to component's reboot is updated. Support for iDRAC AD connection with domain\username format. Support for SMB2 network share. Update IDSDM dup with dependent iDRAC dup.
3 Enhancements This chapter provides information on the enhancements in the current release The following points provides information on the enhancements for the current release: ● HTTPS support Cacert option is used along with catalog or source location for connecting https server using the certificate. 5 Known Issues Issue 1(158771): Description: Downgrade for Dell Update Package, Intel Adapter Firmware (FW-DUP) from 19.0.x to 18.8.x is not supported. Hence, downgrade will always be shown in preview mode of DSU even after performing downgrade. Version Affected: Dell System Update version1.8.0 Issue 2(147822): Description: IDSDM DUP (Firmware_FF4WY_WN64_1.7_A02.EXE) may show update status as "not applied, dependent component requires restart" even if dependent component does not require reboot.
Issue 6(152532): Description: Performing boot from bootable-ISO burned in USB may fail to update components in preOS environment. Version Affected: Dell System Update version1.8.0 Issue 7(160597): Description: Standard NVM Express Controller Driver (CFYMV) does not support Non-RAID config. Hence may fail to update using DSU.
