About credential prole
Credential proles simplify the use and management of user credentials by authenticating the role-based capabilities of the user. Each
credential prole contains a user name and password for a single user account. A credential prole authenticates a user’s role-based
capabilities. The OMIMSSC uses credential proles to connect to the managed systems’ iDRAC, CMC/OME-M or Network switches.
You can create the following credential prole:
• Windows Credential Prole—This prole is used for enrollment of the console with the OMIMSSC.
• Device Credential Prole—This prole consists of the credentials, SNMP community string, https port number and SNMP port number
elds which are used to access an iDRAC console, or Chassis Management Controller/OpenManage Enterprise Modular (CMC/OME-
M) console, or a network switch management console.
NOTE: A device credential prole is used for discovery of a server, or a modular systems, or a network
switch.
