18.3 Create a template from a JSON File
The JSON format is for MX Chassis devices and creating a template from a JSON file will create the MX
Chassis template.
To create the template from a JSON file:
1. Navigate to the Deployment tab.
2. In the left pane, click Create Template under Common Tasks.
3. Type a unique name for the template.
4. Select Create from File.
5. Click Browse and browse to the file’s location.
6. Select the file and click Open.

7. Click Finish to create the template. The template name is added to the MX Chassis Templates tree
