Issue 1: Description: After upgrading from OpenManage Essentials version 2.1 to version 2.2, duplication of the PowerVault MD Series storage arrays is observed in the device tree. [68438] Resolution: To eliminate the duplicate entries, ensure that you delete and rediscover the PowerVault MD Series storage arrays. Issue 2: Description: After upgrading from OpenManage Essentials version 1.1.1 to 2.2, or 1.1.1 to 1.2 to 1.3 to 2.0 to 2.0.1 to 2.1 to 2.

Description: Dell EMC EqualLogic FS7500 NAS device discovered using the management member IP is displayed as Unknown in the device tree. [39618] Resolution: Discover the Dell EMC EqualLogic FS7500 NAS device using the group manager IP. Issue 12: Description: If a PowerEdge VRTX chassis is discovered using SNMP protocol and NetBIOS name resolution setting, the instrumentation (NetBIOS) name is not resolved.
Description: If you are managing a Dell EMC storage array, enter the IP address for only one of the storage processors (that is, either SPA or SPB, and not both) in the discovery range. The storage processors are redundant and return the same inventory data to OpenManage Essentials. If you enter both SPs in the discovery range, only one SP will be displayed in the device tree.
Description: When you create a custom group, you have the ability to select a pre-defined device search query or the ability to select individual devices and groups to form your newly created custom group. If you select a device search query as your basis for your custom group content and you subsequently decide to modify the device search query, the results of the modified device search query is not reflected in the custom group.
● 1 = Matches device names based on the name resolution method set in the UI. ● 2 = Matches device names based on the name resolution method set in the UI, but also uses the alternate name if it gives a more optimal match. Setting the NAME_CORRELATION_MODE to 2 helps when you do not want a preferred name resolution method for correlation.
Issue 50: Description: When a server is discovered with the SNMP protocol, the RAC name of the server is not displayed in the device tree, portals, and wizards. [64443] Resolution: Ensure that the iDRAC of the server is discovered with the WS-Man protocol. Otherwise, the system name is displayed in the device tree, portals, and wizards instead of the RAC name.
Issue 64: Description: If the mode of the IOAs in a chassis is changed from Standalone or VLT to PMUX, the IOAs of a chassis are not discovered when using the Chassis (CMC) Discovery — All Components filter. [65026] Resolution: Do one of the following: ● Update the SNMP Community string of the IOA in the corresponding CMC console. ● Discover the IOAs separately in OpenManage Essentials.
Resolution: Avoid using the system path variables with % sign and use the full absolute path to the executable file. Issue 11: Description: SNMPv3 traps are received as "Unknown" alerts with severity for following CMC firmware versions: 5.20/5.21 (M1000E), 1.30/1.32 (FX2/FX2S), 2.20/2.22 (VRTX). Remote tasks ● OpenManage Essentials supports iDRAC Service Module (iSM) deployment on servers running Community Enterprise Operating System (CentOS).
● If you have a Windows Firewall configured on the management station or the managed system, make the following configuration changes to enable remote Server Administrator CLI and software updates to work successfully. Resolution: Make sure that the install arguments are valid for Deploy Server Administrator task.
Description: Deploying OpenManage Server Administrator (OMSA) as a sudo user does not work on a system running SLES 11. Resolution: Ensure that the directory for the sudo user exists in the /home directory on SLES 11, and then deploy OMSA. If the directory does not exist under /home, create the sudo user using the useradd –m option. The –m option ensures that the directory for the sudo user is created in /home directory.
Resolution: Avoid using non-English characters in the template name. If the template name has non-English characters, then edit the template name in the edit wizard to remove them. [81748] Resolution: As a workaround, associate the baseline with 500 devices at a time.
