Additional software required to run some features of OpenManage Essentials: For Dell EMC storage arrays inventory, ensure

that your array is FLARE(R) version 19 or above. You must also install Navisphere(R) Secure CLI (version 19 or above) on your

management station.

NOTE: This CLI software is part of the OpenManage Essentials installer media and can be installed from the prerequisites

window.

Installation Instructions

First-time Installation of OpenManage Essentials version 2.4:

● See the Dell EMC OpenManage Essentials Version 2.4 User's Guide for instructions on setting up OpenManage Essentials

for the first time on a system.

Migrating IT Assistant to OpenManage Essentials:

● Direct migration from IT Assistant to OpenManage Essentials version 2.4 is not supported. However, you can migrate IT

Assistant to an earlier version of OpenManage Essentials (version 1.3), and then upgrade to OpenManage Essentials version

2.4.

NOTE: The OpenManage Install dialog box displays a notification if the latest version of OpenManage Essentials or

SupportAssist Enterprise is already installed on the system. For Dell EMC Repository Manager and Dell EMC License

Manager, this notification may not be displayed, even if the latest versions are already installed. [28109]

Upgrade

See the Dell EMC OpenManage Essentials Version 2.4 User's Guide for instructions on upgrading to OpenManage Essentials

version 2.4.

Uninstallation

NOTE:

Before uninstalling OpenManage Essentials, you must uninstall Dell EMC OpenManage Essentials MIB Import

Utility and Dell EMC SupportAssist Enterprise (if installed).

1. Click Start > Control Panel > Programs and Features.

2. In Uninstall or change a program, select Dell EMC OpenManage Essentials and click Uninstall.

3. In the message Are you sure you want to uninstall OpenManage Essentials?, click Yes.

4. In the message Uninstalling OpenManage Essentials removes the OpenManage Essentials

database. Do you want to retain the database?, click Yes to retain the database, or click No to remove it.
