NOTE: The recommended minimum hardware requirements for OpenManage Essentials on a domain controller are 8 GB
RAM, 8 cores processor, and a remote database.
NOTE: When accessing the OpenManage Essentials console via a remote browser, you will experience better
performance in the console user interface by using a (remote) system that has a well-equipped processor. For small and
medium congurations, a system with an Intel multi-core processor or equivalent is typically sucient. For larger
congurations, an Intel i3 (or better) processor or equivalent is recommended. The RAM and graphic capability of the
system will not aect the performance as much as the processor. A virtual machine may also be used for launching
OpenManage Essentials remotely. As with a physical system, a virtual machine with a better equipped processor will
provide better performance in the remote console.
NOTE:
• The disk space needed may increase based on the:
– Number of Dell Update Packages you import for software update.
– Number of MSI les you import for software deployment.
• If SupportAssist Enterprise is installed along with OpenManage Essentials, you require 2 GB RAM, Dual core processors in
addition to the minimum requirements described in the above table. If you are using SQL Server Standard or Enterprise
Editions, the maximum SQL Server memory must be congured within SQL Server to prevent it from using the entire
system memory. It is recommended that you use a maximum of 4 GB for a 6 GB RAM conguration.
• For large number of managed systems, see the Dell EMC OpenManage Essentials User’s Guide.
