3 Test Environment and Methodology
The scalability, performance, reliability, and longevity tests for Power Manager Plugin 2.0 were performed on
the following environments:
Small Business Customer’s Environment:
This environment consists of 1000 managed systems in OpenManage Enterprise and the same set of devices
monitored in Power Manager. CONFIG-1 has 1000 devices monitored in Power Manager plugin as part of
Individual Devices, Static Groups and Physical Groups.
Enterprise Business Customer’s Environment:
This environment consists of 8000 managed systems in OpenManage Enterprise and the same set of devices
monitored in Power Manager. CONFIG - 2, 3, 4, and 5 are deployed as the test environment for Enterprise
Business with 8000 devices monitored in Power Manager plugin as part of Individual Devices, Static Groups
and Physical Groups.
Following is the list of configurations covered as part of this exercise.
Configuration details mentioned in all subsequent sections of this document are a subset of the same.
