Conguration backup
Always keep a backup copy of your conguration les. You can use these backup les to restore your conguration when needed. Dell EMC
recommends backing up the conguration regularly to ensure that a complete conguration is available for downloading.
The following recommendations apply:
Keep backup copies of the startup conguration for all switches in the fabric.
Upload the conguration backup copies to an external host or an attached USB device.
Avoid copying conguration les from one switch to another. Instead, restore the switch conguration les from the backup copy.
Backup procedure
To back up the switch module conguration to an FTP server:
1 Open a TELNET session to the serial console.
2 Enter the configUpload command.
You are presented with a series of prompts.
3 Follow the prompts to upload the conguration.
The configUpload command uploads the switch conguration to the server, making it available for downloading to a replacement
switch module, if required.
