2 Align the triangular cutout of the socket and the indent on processor carrier with the gold triangle identifying pin of the processor.

3 Press the processor carrier to make sure the processor carrier is locked on the processor.

1 Install the heat sink.

2 Complete the procedure listed in After working inside your system.

Installing heat sink

1 Ensure that you read the Safety instructions.

2 Keep the #2 Phillips screwdriver handy.

3 Before upgrading your system, download the latest system BIOS version from http://dell.com/support and follow the instructions

included in the compressed download le to install the update on your system.

NOTE

: You can update the system BIOS using the Dell Lifecycle Controller.

4 Complete the procedure listed in Before working inside your system.

5 Install the processor.

1 Remove the TIM protective lm from the heat sink.
