Event Logging
DRAC 5 has a persistent log which stores all critical events like user login/logout, DRAC 5
configuration changes, and critical operations to a server via DRAC 5, and so on. Administrators
can use this log to audit critical operations on the DRAC 5.
Log Format
All log entries include:
Time of the event
Application associated with the event
User or initiating process
Remote IP address associated with the event
Detailed description of the event
Log Events
The following are categories of events logged in the DRAC 5 log:
All valid and failed login attempts
All logout events
All security policy changes, like channel privilege, IP blocking, and so on
All user account management changes (such as user creation or deletion, user privilege
changes, and so on)
All PET alerts or test alerts sent by a DRAC 5
All server power management via a DRAC 5 such as power on, power off, power cycle, and
hard reset to a system
DRAC 5 firmware update
Start /Stop a DRAC 5 Virtual Media session
Start/Stop a DRAC 5 Console Redirection session
