This issue might occur if there is a virtual drive present on the old PC which is created if the you have installed a Click to
Run version of a program such as Microsoft Office applications or due to the presence of the virtual drive on the PC, Dell
Data Assistant will not be able to read and write to the file system and the migration process will be terminated due to a time
out.
Complete the following steps to resolve the issue:
1. You will need uninstall the Click to Run version of the application from the old PC and retry the migration process.
2. Once the migration is completed, reinstall the program and activate it.
● Incompatible version of Dell Data Assistant is being used on the PCs
Always ensure that the latest and most up-to-date version of the SupportAssist application and Dell Data Assistant is being
used during the migration process.
To resolve this issue, click Dell Data Assistant.exe URL to download the latest version of Dell Data Assistant on your old PC.
● Core part of the application is removed.
This might happen when you accidentally remove any necessary application (exe) from C:\Dell\DellDataAssistant
folder.
To resolve this issue, a fresh installation of Dell Data Assistant is required. You do that by downloading and installing latest
version of Dell Data Assistant by clicking Dell Data Assistant.exe.
