Troubleshooting issues with launching Dell Migrate through
SupportAssist
In case you are unable to see the welcome screen for Dell Migrate or the option to launch Dell Migrate does not appear on the
Dell SupportAssist application, follow the steps below:
1. Uninstall the SupportAssist application from the Control Panel > Add or Remove programs.
2. Restart the new PC and install the Dell SupportAssist application by following SupportAssist for Home PCs User's Guide.
3. Ensure you are logged in as an administrator or the account you are currently logged in with has administrative privileges on
the PC, before launching the Dell SupportAssist application.
In case the issue persists with launching Dell Migrate, contact the Dell Support Team.
Code verification
The code that is displayed on Dell Data Assistant helps you securely connect to the other PC and transfer data in a secure
manner.
A six-digit code is displayed on the Dell Data Assistant user interface. Once this is visible, you will get a window on Dell Migrate
(within SupportAssist) to enter the code. The code gets refreshed every minute. Make sure to enter the correct code on the
Dell Migrate window for both PCs to pair. After three incorrect attempts the window will be disabled for a few seconds for
security purposes. After the timeout, the window will be enabled, and you can enter the code again.
