Raw storage space is expressed in decimal units (for example, 1TB = 10

bytes). Addressable storage space is
expressed in base 2 units (for example, 1TB = 2

bytes). Therefore, a 1TB drive measured in decimal units is equal to
0.909TB base 2 units.
