Updating source location
The Update Source Location allows the user to specify where to access the update information. By default, Default Source
Location is selected which downloads and installs the updates from downloads.dell.com
NOTE: If a custom repository is created with Dell Command | Cloud Repository Manager, update the Default Source
Location appropriately, pointing to the location of the custom catalog file that was created and downloaded. To download
and save custom catalog files created by Dell Command | Cloud Repository Manager, see dell.com/support.
The Update Source Location requires at least one source location to be provided, if the Default Source Location is not
selected.
To add a source location:
1. Click BROWSE.
2. Go to the file location, and then select the catalog.cab file.
NOTE:
If you are using Dell Command | Cloud Repository Manager as the default source location, go to the file
location, and then select the catalog.xml file.
3. Click + to add the new source location.
4. Prioritize these locations by clicking the up and down arrows that are associated with the source location entry.
5. Click x to remove the source location path from the list.
NOTE:
If the catalog file loads successfully, Dell Command | Update uses the first source location. Dell Command |
Update does not load each source location that is listed and aggregates the contents. Dell Command | Update does not
check for signatures on any source location that is not available on dell.com.
If Default Source Location is checked, and the other catalogs fail to process, then the application processes the
default Dell catalog.
If Default Source Location is not checked, and the other catalogs fail to process, then the Check for updates task is
not successful.
