Property Description
<OrgID> : <LocalID>
Where <OrgID> and <LocalID> are separated by a colon (:), and where <OrgID> must
include a copyrighted, trademarked, or otherwise unique name that is owned by the
business entity that is creating or dening the InstanceID or that is a registered ID assigned
to the business entity by a recognized global authority. (This requirement is similar to the
<Schema Name>_<Class Name> structure of Schema class names.) In addition, to ensure
uniqueness, <OrgID> must not contain a colon (:). When using this algorithm, the rst colon
to appear in InstanceID must appear between <OrgID> and <LocalID> . <LocalID> is chosen
by the business entity and should not be reused to identify dierent underlying (real-world)
elements. If the above preferred algorithm is not used, the dening entity must assure that
the resulting InstanceID is not reused across any InstanceIDs produced by this or other
providers for the NameSpace of this instance. For DMTF-dened instances, the preferred
algorithm must be used with the <OrgID>set to CIM.
Limit
This property species the upper bound, or maximum amount of resource that is granted for
this allocation. For example, a system which supports memory paging may support setting
the Limit of a Memory allocation below that of the VirtualQuantity, thus forcing paging to
occur for this allocation.
PowerAllocationSettingPurpose
When power is consumed by or allocated to a ManagedSystemElement, there may be well-
known or meaningful levels of allocation or consumption for the ManagedSystemElement.
The PowerAllocationSettingPurpose property may be used to identify the well known level
or provide context for the interpretation of the other values of the
PowerAllocationSettingData instance. A value of MaxConAuxiliary indicates that the
instance provides information about the maximum power allocated or consumed by the
ManagedSystemElement as currently congured, while the ManagedSystemElement is
turned o and drawing auxiliary power. Note that an alternate name for auxiliary power is
trickle power.
Possible values are:
1 = Other
2 = MaxConAuxiliary
3 = MinWhenOn — Indicates the instance provides information about the minimum
value for power consumption for which a conguration of the ManagedSystemElement
exists such that when it is powered on and operating in that conguration, the power
consumption of the ManagedSystemElement is guaranteed not to exceed the specied
amount.
4 = MaxAsCongured — Indicates that the instance provides information about the
maximum power that may be allocated to or consumed by the ManagedSystemElement
as currently congured while powered on. The actual power consumed may be less.
5 = MaxIfAllHotPlug — Indicates that the instance provides information about the
maximum power allocated or consumed by the ManagedSystemElement if all
components that could be added to the ManagedSystemElement without requiring a
power cycle of the ManagedSystemElement were added to the
ManagedSystemElement.
6 = MaxIfAllColdPlug — Indicates that the instance provides information about the
maximum power allocated or consumed by the ManagedSystemElement if all
components that could be added to the ManagedSystemElement, including those that
require a power cycle of the ManagedSystemElement, were added to the
ManagedSystemElement.
7 = Allocated — Indicates that the instance provides information about the current
power allocated to the ManagedSystemElement.
8 = MinWithoutDegradation — Indicates that the instance provides information about
the minimum power allocated or consumed by the ManagedSystemElement without
causing performance degradation.
