Configuration parameters are stored in the HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Dell\Warranty registry
location.
NOTE: The password is stored in an encrypted form.
Saving The Configuration To A File
To save the Dell Command | Warranty Utility configuration to a file:
1. At the command line, enter the following command: DellWarranty-CLI.exe setup_config
config_file=admin.cfg (where admin.cfg is the name of the configuration file).
2. Enter configuration information as required. See Configuring Dell Command | Warranty Utility for
further information.
NOTE: The password is stored in an encrypted form.
Retrieving Warranty Information
1. If the system on which Dell Command | Warranty Utility is installed has access to Configuration
Manager and is able to connect to the internet (including through proxy):
a. Launch Dell Command | Warranty Utility.

b. Configure Dell Command | Warranty Utility.
For more information, see Configuring Dell Command | Warranty Utility.
c. To retrieve the warranty information through the Configuration Manager database:
• Using the configuration settings saved to the registry, enter the following command:
DellWarranty-CLI.exe get_info internal_sccm_db.
• Using the configuration settings saved to a file, enter the following command:
DellWarranty-CLI.exe get_info internal_sccm_db config_file=<name of the
file>.
The warranty information of the Dell client systems is retrieved and saved as an XML file in the
%ProgramData%\Dell\CommandIntegrationSuite folder.
NOTE: The file is saved as WarrantyInformation_MM_DD.xml (where MM is the month and
DD is the day).
NOTE: Warranty information for each device begins with the word “Asset”, and is followed
by asset attributes such as ServiceTag, SystemID, and so on.
2. If the system on which Dell Command | Warranty Utility is installed does not have access to
Configuration Manager, but is able to connect to the internet (including through proxy):
a. Launch Dell Command | Warranty Utility.

b. Configure Dell Command | Warranty Utility.

c. Create a .csv file containing the service tags.
NOTE: Create the .csv file with one service tag per line.
d. To retrieve the warranty information for the service-tags saved in the .csv file ( one service tag per
line):
