Dell Warranty The Dell Command | Warranty Utility can be installed as a stand-alone application or part of the Dell Command | Integration Suite for System Center 2012 on systems running Microsoft System Center 2012 Configuration Manager, System Center 2012 SP1 Configuration Manager, and System Center 2012 R2 Configuration Manager. Dell Command | Warranty Utility helps you to retrieve the warranty information for a list of client systems stored in the Configuration Manager’s database, or in a file.
Launching Dell Command | Warranty Utility Launch the Dell Command | Warranty Utility using a command line tool. 1. Open a command prompt. 2. Navigate to the folder in which you have placed the Dell Command | Warranty Utility files. For example, type: cd C:\Program Files\Dell\Command . . . 3. Type the name of the executable file. For example, type: DellWarranty-CLI.exe Configuring Dell Command | Warranty Utility Before you use Dell Command | Warranty Utility, do the following: 1.
Configuration parameters are stored in the HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Dell\Warranty registry location. NOTE: The password is stored in an encrypted form. Saving The Configuration To A File To save the Dell Command | Warranty Utility configuration to a file: 1. At the command line, enter the following command: DellWarranty-CLI.exe setup_config config_file=admin.cfg (where admin.cfg is the name of the configuration file). 2. Enter configuration information as required.
• Using the configuration settings saved to the registry, enter the following command: DellWarranty-CLI.exe get_info MyTags.csv. • Using the configuration settings saved to a file, enter the following command: DellWarranty-CLI.exe get_info MyTags.csv config_file=. NOTE: The .csv file containing the list of services-tags was created in step c. The warranty information of the Dell client systems is retrieved and saved as an .xml file in the %ProgramData%\Dell\CommandIntegrationSuite fold
