Dell Warranty
The Dell Warranty tool can be installed as a stand-alone application or part of the Dell Command |
Integration Suite for System Center 2012 on systems running Microsoft System Center 2012
Configuration Manager, System Center 2012 SP1 Configuration Manager, and System Center 2012 R2
Configuration Manager. Dell Warranty helps you to retrieve the warranty information for a list of client
systems stored in the Configuration Manager’s database, or in a file. The client systems are specified with
their Service Tags.
Launching Dell Warranty
Launch the Start screen, browse to the list of Apps and click Dell Warranty.
Configuring Dell Warranty
Before you run the Dell Warranty, configure the following parameters to gather the warranty information.
1. Launch Dell Warranty.

2. Enter DellWarranty-CLI.exe setup_config to store the configuration in the Windows Registry.

NOTE: To save the configuration information into a file, enter DellWarranty-CLI.exe
setup_config config_file=<name of the file>. For more information, see Saving The
Configuration To A File.
3. Configure the following parameters:
NOTE: To skip a certain setup parameter like Proxy Domain, press enter key without any input.
a. Proxy User Name of the server (if set).
b. Proxy User Domain of the server (if set).
c. Proxy User Password of the server (if set).
d. Proxy server address (if set).
NOTE: Enter the proxy server as http://proxyserver<:portnumber>/ where the port number
is optional.
e. Fully Qualified Domain Name or IP address of the server running Configuration Manager
database.
f. Name of the Configuration Manager database.
g. Credentials to use with the Configuration Manager database.
The Use Integrated Security <yes/no> string is displayed. If you enter yes, the session is
completed. If you enter no:
• enter the User ID for the Configuration Manager database.
• enter the Password for the Configuration Manager database.
