Dell Command | Configure for Microsoft
Windows PE
Windows Preinstallation Environment (Windows PE) provides a standalone preinstallation environment
that is used to prepare a system for Windows installation. For client systems that do not have an
operating system installed, you can create a bootable image that contains Dell Command | Configure to
run the Dell Command | Configure commands on Windows PE. To create Windows PE 2.0 and 3.0
images, you can use Microsoft Windows Automated Installation Kit (Windows AIK), and to create
Windows PE 4.0, Windows PE 5.0, and Windows PE 10.0 images, you can use Windows Assessment and
Deployment Kit (Windows ADK).
Using Windows PE 2.0, Windows PE 3.0, Windows PE 4.0, Windows PE 5.0, and Windows PE 10.0, you
can integrate Dell Command | Configure , HAPI, and related drivers directly into a bootable ISO image.
