that
shipped with your system.
Turn on the system. XenServer boots and the End User
License Agreement is displayed. Read the agreement
and press <Enter> to proceed.
Go to Network and Management Interface→ Add/Remove
DNS Servers and enter valid DNS server(s). Select Network
Time Protocol (NTP) to configure your XenServer host to
synchronize with NTP server(s) in your network (if available).
NOTE: XenCenter
®
uses free-form names to refer to
XenServer hosts.
When you configure the management interface, it is
recommended that you copy the host name that you
configured in step 4 to the XenCenter name.
On the management station, launch XenCenter. In the
XenCenter wizard, select Add New Server. Enter the host
name/IP address and login information that you configured in
step 3 for your XenServer host, and click Connect. You are
now ready to start managing your XenServer host using
XenCenter.
Before You Begin
Download the XenCenter software from mycitrix.com
(requires free registration) or on the XenServer host from
http://<xenserver IP addr>. Install XenCenter on the
management station that you plan to use to manage
your XenServer host(s).

The XenServer management interface is configured with
DHCP settings by default. However, it is recommended
that you use a static IP address. Go to Network and
Management Interface→ Configure Management
Interface. Enter a valid IP address, Netmask, Gateway,
and Hostname for the management interface.
