Run the Modular Disk Storage Manager and manually add the XenServer
host(s) based on the new iSCSI IQN entered in step 1. After opening the
MDSM and selecting the PowerVault MD3000i storage array to be
configured, select the
Configure
tab.
NOTE: In the examples to follow the storage array “sg23_training” is a
PowerVault MD3000i storage array with virtual disks already configured using
the Create Virtual Disks selection. The new system being added to an existing
host group is named Valhalla.

From the
Configure
tab, select
Configure Host Access (Manual)
.
Enter the host name for the server which has XenServer software installed.
Select
Linux
as the host type.

From the next screen, specify the iSCSI initiator by selecting the
New
button. On the
Enter New iSCSI Initiator
screen enter the XenServer
iSCSI initiator name configured in step 1. The label is auto-populated
with the server name. See Figure 5-3.

Host Group configuration starts from the
Configure Host Access
(Manual) - Specify Host Group
screen. If provisioning storage as
shared storage for a XenServer pool, a host group must be defined so
the MD3000i storage subsystem has a configured iSCSI path to each
of the hosts.
