Users Guide

Initially, wait for 60 seconds. If the server is still initializing, the slot name appears as soon as initialization
is complete, and the server can be selected.
If, after 60 seconds, OSCAR still indicates that the slot is initializing, remove and then re-insert the server
in the chassis. This action allows iDRAC to reinitialize.
IOM
After a configuration change, sometimes CMC displays the IP address as 0.0.0.0.
Click the Refresh icon to see if the IP address is set correctly on the switch. If an error is made in setting
the IP,mask, or /gateway, the switch does not set the IP address and returns a 0.0.0.0 in all fields.
Common errors are:
Setting the out-of-band IP address to be the same as, or on the same network as, the in-band
management IP address.
Entering an invalid subnet mask.
Setting the default gateway to an address that is not on a network that is directly connected to the
switch.
For more information on IOM network settings, see the Dell PowerConnect M6220 Switch Important
Information document and the Dell PowerConnect 6220 Series Port Aggregator White Paper at
dell.com/support/manuals.
Single Sign On
Though CMC is setup to allow Single Sign-On (SSO), the browser displays a blank page.
Only Mozilla Firefox and Internet Explorer browsers are supported at this time for SSO. Check the
browser settings for the correct setup. For more information, see the Configuring Browser for SSO Login
section.
If the browsers are configured correctly, both browsers must allow you to log in without entering the
name and password. Use the Fully Qualified Domain Name (FQDN) for the CMC. For example,
myCMC.Domain.ext/ in the Address bar of the browser. The browser redirects you to the https (secure
mode) and enables you to log in to the CMC. Both http and https are valid for the browsers. If you save
the URL as a bookmark, you do not have to any text after the last forward slash in the example. If you still
cannot log in using the SSO, see the Configuring CMC SSO or Smart Card Login for Active Directory
Users section.
