is acknowledged. A Lifecycle Controller operation once scheduled on a server
may take 10 to 15 minutes to complete. The process involves several reboots
of the server during which the firmware installation is executed, which also
includes a firmware verification stage. Progress of this process can be observed
by viewing the server console. If there are several components or devices that
need to be updated on a server, you can consolidate all the updates into one
scheduled operation thus minimizing the number of reboots required.
Table 5-60 describes the buttons available and the actions that can be
performed on the Server Component Update page:
For some components, the Update, Rollback and Reinstall actions may
require a server reboot. The reboot can be deferred by making a selection
from the dropdown list. Select Reboot Now if the server should be rebooted
immediately or Reboot Later to manually reboot the server at a later time.
Sometimes, when an operation is in the process of being submitted for
scheduling through another session or context, another operation is
attempted. In this case, a confirmation popup message is displayed indicating
the situation and the operation is not be submitted. Wait for the operation in
process to complete and then submit the operation again.
