DNS

This property registers the CMC name on the DNS Server.

Default: Unchecked (disabled) by default.

NOTE: Some DNS Servers only register names of 31 characters

or fewer. Make sure the designated name is within the DNS

required limit.

DNS CMC Name Displays the CMC name only when Register CMC on DNS is

selected. The default CMC name is CMC_service_tag, where

service tag is the service tag of the chassis, for example: CMC-

00002. The maximum number of characters is 63. The first

character must be a letter (a-z, A-Z), followed by an

alphanumeric (a-z, A-Z, 0-9) or a hyphen (-) characters.

Use DHCP for DNS

Domain Name

Uses the default DNS domain name. This check box is active

only when Use DHCP (For CMC Network Interface

IP Address) is selected.

Default: Enabled

DNS Domain Name The default DNS Domain Name is a blank character. This field

can be edited only when the Use DHCP for DNS Domain

Name check box is selected.

Auto Negotiation (1

Gb)

Determines whether CMC automatically sets the duplex mode

and network speed by communicating with the nearest router

or switch (On) or allows you to set the duplex mode and

network speed manually (Off).

Default: On.

If Auto Negotiation is On, CMC automatically communicates

with the nearest router or switch and operates at 1 Gb speed.

If Auto Negotiation is Off, you must set the duplex mode and

network speed manually.
