Problem: Storage Amber LED blinks.
Resolution: Ensure that the storage module is inserted properly and check the chassis log for warning messages. This error can be
cleared only if the underlying fault is addressed and the associated host is power cycled with the sled removed or through a sled virtual
reseat.
Problem: Storage module RAID firmware update is not effective.
Resolution: When in split-dual host mode, each host that is connected to the storage sled RAID must be power cycled for the RAID
firmware change to be effective.
Problem: PCIe slot reassignment option is disabled in the GUI.
Resolution: Ensure that all hosts in the chassis are powered on. If you attempt changing this setting from RACADM while a host is
powered on, an error message is displayed. The chassis configuration administrator privilege is required to change this setting.
Problem: PCIe slot reassignment enabled and host is powered on, but the PCIe slots are not powered on.
Resolution: Check the Chassis Log for warning messages associated with outdated BIOS, iDRAC, or unsupported host.
Problem: Not able to import, export, or delete storage module licenses.

Resetting Forgotten Administrator Password
CAUTION: Many repairs may only be done by a certified service technician. Perform troubleshooting and simple repairs
as authorized in your product documentation, or as directed by the online or telephone service and support team.
Damage due to servicing that is not authorized by Dell is not covered by your warranty. Read and follow the safety
instructions that came with the product.
To perform management actions, a user with Administrator privileges is required. The CMC software has a user account password
protection security feature that may be disabled if the administrator account password is forgotten. If the administrator account password
is forgotten, it can be recovered using the J_PWORD jumper on the CMC board.
The CMC board has a two-pin password reset connector as shown in the following figure. If a jumper is installed in the reset connector,
the default administrator account and password is enabled and set to the default values of username: root and password:
calvin. The administrator account is reset regardless if the account has been removed, or if the password was changed.
NOTE: Make sure that the CMC module is in a passive state before you begin.

The administrator account is temporarily reset regardless if the administrator account was removed, or if the password was changed.
NOTE:
When the J_PWORD jumper is installed, a default serial console configuration is used (rather than configuration
property values), as follows:
cfgSerialBaudRate=115200
cfgSerialConsoleEnable=1
cfgSerialConsoleQuitKey=^\
cfgSerialConsoleIdleTimeout=0
cfgSerialConsoleNoAuth=0
cfgSerialConsoleCommand=""
cfgSerialConsoleColumns=0
1. Press the CMC release latch on the handle and pull the module front panel. Slide the CMC module out of the enclosure.
