Catalog overview
This reference guide provides the overview of the Dell catalogs available and used by various applications.
What is a Catalog (also known as PDK and SDP Catalog)?
The Catalog contains direct links to the latest updates that are available for Dell PowerEdge Servers (up to
4 generations). The Catalog also contains information regarding Equalogic, PowerVault Storage and
Force10 switches. The file is organized by Server Type, a list of all the components available for that
server and links to the individual update files. This Catalog file contains comprehensive information of
updates available for components like supported OS, Devices, and so on.
Updates for enterprise systems are available at:
• FTP (or PDK) Catalog which is used by Dell applications like Dell Repository Manager, OpenManage
Essentials, and so on.
• SDP Catalog which is used by applications like Microsoft SCCM.
What types of updates are available in the Catalog?
The Catalog contains updates for:
• System Inventory Components
• Drivers
• Firmware
• Applications such as OMSA
• Diagnostic tools
