timer
Set the hello interval or dead interval for the Ring control packets.
C9000 Series
Syntax
timer {hello-interval milliseconds}| {dead-interval
milliseconds}
To remove the timer, use the no timer {hello-interval
[milliseconds]}| {dead-interval milliseconds} command.
Parameters
hello-interval
milliseconds
Enter the keyword hello-interval then the time, in
milliseconds, to set the hello interval of the control packets.
The milliseconds must be entered in increments of 50
millisecond; for example, 50, 100, 150, and so on. If an
invalid value is entered, an error message is generated. The
range is from 50 to 2000 ms. Default: 500 ms.
dead-interval
milliseconds
Enter the keyword dead-interval then the time, in
milliseconds, to set the dead interval of the control packets.
The range is from 50 to 6000 ms. Default: 1500 ms.
NOTE: The configured dead interval must be at least
three times the hello interval.
Defaults
500 ms for hello-interval milliseconds
1500 ms for dead-intervalmilliseconds
