MBGP Commands
Multiprotocol BGP (MBGP) is an enhanced BGP that enables multicast routing policy throughout the
Internet and connecting multicast topologies between BGP and autonomous systems (AS). Dell
Networking OS MBGP is implemented as per IETF RFC 1858.
Dell Networking OS version 7.8.1.0 and later support MBGP for IPv6 on e

and c platforms.
Dell Networking OS version 7.8.1.0 and later supports MBGP for IPv4 Multicast only on the s
platform.
Dell Networking OS version 8.2.1.0 and later support MBGP on the E-Series ExaScale e
x
platform.
The MBGP commands are:
• address family ipv4 multicast (MBGP)

Enter a number for the time interval, in seconds, between keepalive messages sent
to the neighbor routers.
Range: 1 to 65535
Default: 60 seconds
holdtime
Enter a number for the time interval, in seconds, between the last keepalive
message and declaring the router dead.
Range: 3 to 65535
Default: 180 seconds
