2 Overview Screen
The System Backup Status screen is the first screen displayed when you launch
Dell Backup and Recovery Manager. You can also access it from other screens in the
Dell Backup and Recovery Manager by clicking the Overview button.
The System Backup Status screen displays information about the last system
backup image made. For Microsoft Windows Vista and Windows 7 systems that
include a copy of your Dell Factory Image on the Recovery partition, it will be your
initial system backup image shown until you back up your system.
For Windows XP systems that do not have a Recovery partition and a Dell Factory
Image, the backup status information is replaced with a message informing you that
a backup has not been made and advises you to create a backup now by clicking
Backup System Now …. For more information, go to 2.2 If you have not created
a system backup.
NOTE: It is recommended that you make frequent and regular system
backups as a safeguard against possible future software or hardware failures
that may occur unexpectedly. For more information, go to 13 Why do I
