Weak batteries will also prevent the remote control from properly operating the projector.
2 Adjusting Projector Image Aligning Projected Image To A Projection Screen To ensure that the projected image shows within the surface of a projection screen, use the following method: 1 Move the projector close to the screen, and form a rectangular image that is smaller than the screen itself. 2 Check that the bottom edge of the projected image aligns with the bottom edge of screen frame, and the top edge of the projected image is level with the screen.
3 Check that the left and right edges are parallel to the screen. If you are unable to align the sides, skip this step and correct this with 4-Corner adjustment on Page 27 Adjusting Image Corners. B C B C 4 Ensure that the rectangle is in the center of the screen (equal distance from left and right sides of the screen).
5 Move the projector backwards slowly to fill the screen. 6 Once the screen is filled, use the 4 corner correction to fine-tune the image shape.
Adjusting Image Shape 1 Turn the front tilt adjustment wheels and rear tilt adjustment wheel such that there are no gaps between the projector and wheels. 1 2 2 NOTE: Adjustment wheels can only be extended/protrude by 2cm, after which they fall out.

5 Extend the right side front tilt adjustment wheel if the projected image appears as shown below: 2 6 In certain situations, it might be necessary to adjust the orientation of projector to correct the distortion on the projected image. Turn the projector anticlockwise when the projected image appears shown as below.
7 Turn the projector clockwise when the projected image appears as shown below: 8 If necessary, repeat Steps 2 to 7 to achieve a rectangular projected image. In certain situations, it might be necessary to adjust the projector to be nearer or further away from the wall. For fine adjustment of the projected image, use Keystone Settings as shown on page 27.
Adjusting Image Height Raising the Projector Image Height 1 Extend the rear tilt adjustment wheel to raise the image. 2 Use the keystone settings to make the image shape to be a rectangle. Refer to section on Page 27 Adjusting Image Corners for more information about fine adjustment of the keystone settings. Lowering the Projector Image Height 1 Extend the front tilt adjustment wheels to lower the image. 2 Use the keystone settings to make the image shape to be a rectangle. 1 3.6° (42.
Projector Image Focus Adjustment 1 The Dell S718QL supports power focus. When the projection screen is blurred, you can use the Power Focus option to adjust the screen until it is clear. Steps: Advanced Settings > Projector Settings > Focus Adjust 2 Adjust the focus until the image is clear. The projector focuses at distances ranging between 3.9 inches to 8.9 inches (9.9 cm to 22.6 cm).
Quick Focus Adjustment 1 With the On-Screen Display (OSD) not shown, press and hold the right button on the projector control panel for 2 seconds. 2 A quick focus adjustment screen will pop up. 3 Adjust the focus of your projected image by pressing the up and down buttons on the projector control panel.
Adjusting Projector Position When you select a position for the projector, consider the size and shape of your screen, the location of your power outlets, and the distance between the projector and the rest of your equipment. Follow these general guidelines: • When positioning the projector to the screen, it must be at least 3.9 inches (9.9 cm) and not more than 8.9 inches (22.6 cm) from the projection screen.

Adjusting Image Corners Use 4 corner adjustment features to get perfect, rectangular images. 1 Advanced Settings > Keystone Settings > 4 Corner Keystone 2 Press to start adjusting the first corner. Use , , or to move the corner position. Once satisfied with the new position of the corner, press to return to the previous step. 3 Use , , and to select another corner to adjust. Cleaning the Projector's Lens Clean the projector's lens periodically, or whenever you notice dust or smudges on the surface. 1 Turn off the projector power and disconnect the power cord. 2 Let the projector cool for at least 30 minutes. 3 Use air blower bulb to blow off dust on the lens or gently wipe the lens by using a microfiber cleaning cloth. 4 If significant dust, dirt, or smudges are still bound to the surface of the lens, moisten a lint-microfiber cloth and gently wipe until clean.
3 Using Your Projector Using Network Display Configure Your Projector for Network Display Connect Projector to the Network 1 Connect the power cable and turn on the projector by pressing the power button. 2 Press the Menu button on your projector control panel or remote control. NOTE: Use select.

Steps: Start > Control Panel > Network and Internet > Network and Sharing Center > Change Adapter Setting > Local Area Connection 2 Open the Internet browser on your computer, and enter 10.0.50.100 (default) in the browser's address bar. You will be directed to the Dell S718QL Web Management page.
4 At the Download page, click Download Network Projection App For Windows 10/8/7/Vista/XP and install to your computer. NOTE: If you are unable to install the application because of inadequate rights on the computer, please contact your network administrator. 5 Click Run to proceed with the one-time installation of the software. 6 The installation software will launch. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete setup.
Install Dell Network Projection Software on the Mac 1 Open Local Area Connection Properties, and then enter the IP Address and Subnet Mask, click OK. Steps: Go > Applications > System Preferences > Network 2 Open the Safari browser on your Mac computer, and enter 10.0.50.100 (default) in the browser's address bar. You will be directed to the Dell S718QL Web Management page. 3 The S718QL web management page opens. For first-time use, click Download.
4 At the Download page, click You can also download for OSX and install to your computer. NOTE: If you are unable to install the application because of inadequate rights on the computer, please contact your network administrator. 5 Running Dell_Network_Projection_Mac.pkg from Downloads folder.
6 The installation software will launch. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete setup. Using the Dell Network Projection App (Windows) Once the installation is completed, you can double-click desktop to start the application.

Split Screen After the network projection connects, click Conference button to activate the split screen feature.
Preference Click Preference button to activate the fast connection settings. MY HOSTNAME—Allows you to change the computer hostname. CURRENT DEVICE—Display the current device name. PREFERRED DEVICE—Connect to the computer and the projector using the "Preferred Device". HOST CONTROL DO NOT DISTURB—Users are not allowed to connect to the projector. AUTO ALLOW REQUEST—Allows users to connect to the projector.

Setting up to present using External USB Storage NOTE: A USB flash disk must be plugged into the projector if you want to use the USB media playback feature. Follow these steps to display the Video, Audio, Photo, or PDF files on your projector: 1 Connect the power cable and turn on the projector by pressing the power button. 2 Plug in a USB flash disk to your projector. 3 Press the Menu button on the control panel or remote control. 4 Access the Input Source menu, select USB Viewer source.
5 Go to USB Viewer menu: a You can play Video, Music, or Photo files, or select Setting option to change multimedia settings. 4 Troubleshooting Troubleshooting Tips If you experience problems with your projector, see the following troubleshooting tips. If your problem persists, please contact Dell.
