3. Unpack Citrix XenDesktop ISO into CIFs share on the virtual appliance. To perform this task, run the
following commands:cd /var/lib/razor/repo-store mount -o loop <Citrix
XenDesktop7>.iso /mntrsync -a /mnt/ /var/lib/razor/repo-store/
XenDesktop7umount /mntrm XenDesktop7.iso
4. On the Active System Manager home page, in the left pane, click Templates, select the Deploy Citrix
XenDesktop 7 application template, and then click
Clone.
5. In the Create Template dialog box, enter a name and description for the template, and click Save.
6. On the Template Builder page, click each storage components, and configure the following settings:
a. In the
Storage Component section, under Storage Settings, from the Authentication drop-
down list, select the authentication type as CHAP.
b. Enter the Chap username and Chap secret for the storage volume.
NOTE: If you do not update these password values, the template will not deploy correctly.
There is no value to passwords in the default template even if a masked value appears.
c. Click Save.
7. On the Template Builder page, click each server components, and perform the following:
a. Enter the
Administrator password, Hypervisor Management Network, Hypervisor vMotion
Network, and Workload networks.
b. Click Save.
8. On the Template Builder page, click each virtual machine, and perform the following:
a. Enter the
Administrator password.
b. Select the Windows Image to deploy Windows on the virtual machine.
c. Select the Workload networks to access this VM.
NOTE: Make sure that the same workload network that you have selected was selected for
both of the servers in the Template Builder.
d. Click
Save.
9. On the Template Builder page, click one of the application component, and perform the following:
a. In the
Application Component section, under Application Settings section, in the source box,
enter the directory location where the Citrix XenDesktop7 ISO was unpacked. You should enter
the directory location for each of the application components.
The location for the directory is: //<ASM appliance IP>razor/XenDesktop7/x64/XenDesktop
Setup.
b. Click Save.
10. Click Publish Template.
This template is now ready to be deployed.
Template – Deploy Citrix XenDesktop 7 Infrastructure for 1000 users
This template provides virtual infrastructure (storage, hosts and cluster) for 1000 desktop users.
1. To clone a template, select the template and then click the Clone
button.
2. In the
Create Template dialog box, in the
Template Name and Template Description text boxes,
type a name and description for the template.
3. After creating template, select the storage component.
