Configuring Interface on Blade or FX Servers
1. In the Server Component dialog box, under Network Setting , select Blade or FX2Server option from
Fabric Configuration.
2. To enable fabrics, select the corresponding check boxes next to Fabric A / onboard NIC, Fabric B /
PCI e slot 1, and Fabric C / PCI e slot 2.
Fabric A, Fabric B and Fabric C are applicable for M1000E Chassis.
Onboard NIC, PCIe slot 1, PCIe slot 2 are applicable for FX2 .
NOTE: If you have only a single PCIe card, it must be in slot 1 in FX2 chassis. ASM does not
support a server with either only onboard NIC and PCIe slot 2, or only PCIe slot 2. If you want
to use PCIe slot 2, you must have both PCIe slots populated. It must be configured according
to the server which is used for the deployment.
3. Under Used for Fibre Channel, select the check boxes next to Fabric B / PCI e slot 1 and Fabric C / /
PCI e slot 2 if you want to enable the fabrics for Fibre Channel traffic.
4. From the NIC Type, select one of following NIC types:
• 2 Port
• 4 Port
5. Under <Port number>, if you want to partition the port, select the Do you want to partition? check
box.
6. Perform the following steps for each port and partitions:
a. In the Network (vLAN) column, select the network that you want to configure on the port and
partition.
b. Enter the Minimum Bandwidth and Maximum Bandwidth in percentage.
7. Repeat the steps 4 through 6 for each port and partition.
8. Click Add.
Importing Configuration from Reference Server
The Importing Configuration From Reference Server feature enables you to import an existing server
configuration and set and use it for the new server component settings. You can edit the settings after
importing the configuration.
To import a server configuration, perform the following steps:
1. On the Server Component Settings page, click Import Configuration from Reference Server.
2. After you click Import Configuration from Reference Server, Select Reference Server window
appears. Click Select on the window.
3. List of available reference servers is displayed. Select the server which you want to import as
reference server from the list and click Select.
4. In the Select Reference Server dialog box, click the server to import the configuration.
5. Click Select.
Henceforth, ASM does not only import basic setting from reference server but also impors all the
BIOS setting and advance RAID configuration from the reference server and allow you to edit the
configuration.
After you configure the setting and save it, you will be able to deploy a service with the configuration.
All the BIOS setting and RAID setting will get applied to target server.
