Adding Desktop Experience
1. Click StartAdministrative ToolsServer Manager.
2. Click FeaturesAdd Features.
3. Select Desktop Experience, add the required role services, and click Next.
4. Click Install.
5. Reboot when prompted
6. Click Close after rebooting.
Adding Directory Service Integration
1. Click StartAdministrative ToolsServer Manager.
2. Click FeaturesAdd Features.
3. Expand Message Queuing, expand Message Queuing Services, and check Directory Service Integration and HTTP
Support.
4. Click Add Required Features on the pop-up windows.
5. Click Next.
6. Click Next on the IIS introduction window.
7. Click Next on the Role selection window.
8. Click Install.
9. Reboot when prompted.
10. Close Server Manager.
Installing .NET Framework 3.5.1 Features
1. Click StartAdministrative ToolsServer Manager.
2. Click Features.
3. Click Add Features.
4. At the Select Features screen, select .NET Framework 3.5.1 Features, and add the required features when
prompted. Click Next.
5. Click Install.
6. Click Close.
Starting the Lync Server Pre-installation menu
1. Mount the Microsoft Lync Server 2010 ISO to the VM.
2. Double-click the CD-DVD drive in Windows to start the installation wizard.
3. Click Yes on the prompt to install the Visual C++ Redistributable Package.
4. Leave the default Installation Location, and click Install.
5. Accept the terms of the License Agreement, and click OK.
Preparing the single Standard Edition Server
1. In the Lync Server 2010 Deployment Wizard menu, click Prepare first Standard Edition server.
2. Click Next to start installation.
3. Click Finish.
