11. In the “Creaon Opons” page, choose at least the “Create Database” opon. You may also choose the “Create
Template” and “Save as a Script” opons. Click “Finish”.
12. The “DBCA Summary” page is displayed. Review the informaon, and then click “OK”. Database creaon progress is
displayed. Database creaon may seem to hang at around 95% to 100%. This is usually a pause while remote instances are
created.
13. As a nal step, the “Password Management” window appears and you will be prompted to create passwords for SYS,
SYSTEM, and other users. Click “Exit” when done.
Post-Database Creaon Tasks
There are a few miscellaneous9i-specic tasks that need to be performed aer database
creaon:
1. Compare the OracleAgentService registry parameter on node 1 to nodes 2 and higher. The Priority seng on all nodes
should be consistent with node 1.
2. Aer installaon is nished, you may change the login for the OracleGSD Service from a Local Administrator to a Domain
Administrator:
a. Select Start -> Sengs -> Control Panel -> Administrave Tools -> Services.
b. Select “OracleGSD Service” from the list and select “Properes” from the “Acon” menu.
c. In the “Properes” window, select the “Log On” tab and select “Log On As” -> “This Account”. Enter the
username and password for an OS user who is a Domain Administrator and ORA_DBA groups. Make sure that you
dene the Domain Administrator as a member of the ORA_DBA group before going any further.
d. Repeat these steps on each node.
Creang an Oracle10g Seed Database
For Oracle10g, aer NETCA has been used to create local and remote listener services, it is simple to create a database on mulple
cluster nodes with DBCA. If you are using OFS, you need to pre-create any directories required for installaon. Aer database
conguraon, there are also a few10g-specic post-database creaon steps that need to be run. The following secons outline those
steps.
Pre-Database Creaon Tasks
If you are going to use OCFS for your database les, it is necessary to create an inial directory on an OCFS volume. This may be done
on the command line, i.e. “O:\md u01” creates the O:\u01 directory on the O:\ OCFS volume.
Database Creaon Tasks
To create a 10g seed database with DBCA, use the following process:
1. To start DBCA, go to Start -> Programs -> Oracle – HOME_NAME -> Conguraon and Migraon Tools -> Database
Conguraon Assistant.
2. In the “Welcome” page, select “Real Applicaon Clusters Database”. Click “Next”.
3. In the “Operaons” page, select “Create a Database”. Click “Next”.
