11. In the “Creaon Opons” page, choose at least the “Create Database” opon. You may also choose the “Create
Template” and “Save as a Script” opons. Click “Finish”.
12. The “DBCA Summary” page is displayed. Review the informaon, and then click “OK”. Database creaon progress is
displayed. Database creaon may seem to hang at around 95% to 100%. This is usually a pause while remote instances are
created.
13. As a nal step, the “Password Management” window appears and you will be prompted to create passwords for SYS,
SYSTEM, and other users. Click “Exit” when done.
Post-Database Creaon Tasks
There are a few miscellaneous9i-specic tasks that need to be performed aer database
creaon:
1. Compare the OracleAgentService registry parameter on node 1 to nodes 2 and higher. The Priority seng on all nodes
should be consistent with node 1.
2. Aer installaon is nished, you may change the login for the OracleGSD Service from a Local Administrator to a Domain
Administrator:
a. Select Start -> Sengs -> Control Panel -> Administrave Tools -> Services.
b. Select “OracleGSD Service” from the list and select “Properes” from the “Acon” menu.
c. In the “Properes” window, select the “Log On” tab and select “Log On As” -> “This Account. Enter the
username and password for an OS user who is a Domain Administrator and ORA_DBA groups. Make sure that you
dene the Domain Administrator as a member of the ORA_DBA group before going any further.
d. Repeat these steps on each node.
Creang an Oracle10g Seed Database
For Oracle10g, aer NETCA has been used to create local and remote listener services, it is simple to create a database on mulple
cluster nodes with DBCA. If you are using OFS, you need to pre-create any directories required for installaon. Aer database
conguraon, there are also a few10g-specic post-database creaon steps that need to be run. The following secons outline those
steps.
Pre-Database Creaon Tasks
If you are going to use OCFS for your database les, it is necessary to create an inial directory on an OCFS volume. This may be done
on the command line, i.e. “O:\md u01” creates the O:\u01 directory on the O:\ OCFS volume.
Database Creaon Tasks
To create a 10g seed database with DBCA, use the following process:
1. To start DBCA, go to Start -> Programs -> Oracle – HOME_NAME -> Conguraon and Migraon Tools -> Database
Conguraon Assistant.
2. In the “Welcome” page, select “Real Applicaon Clusters Database”. Click “Next.
3. In the “Operaons” page, select “Create a Database”. Click “Next”.
