Oracle 9.2.0.5 Patch Installaon Steps
To install the Oracle 9.2.0.5 patchset, re-launch the OUI:
1. Open a command prompt window.
2. Navigate to the E:\oracle_stage\9205\Disk 1 directory.
3. Run setup.exe.
4. In the “OUI Welcome screen”, click “Next”.
5. In the next screen, check that the “Source Path” is correct. Set the “Desnaon” eld to the Oracle 9.2 home directory.
6. In the “Cluster Node Selecon” screen, highlight all nodes {if installing on individual nodes, only select the current node).
7. If you don’t see the “Cluster Node Selecon” screen, follow the instrucons listed above for the same problem during
the10g OUI install.
8. In the “Available Products” screen, choose the “9.2.0.5 RDBMS patchset”. Click “Next”.
9. In the “Summary” screen, click “Install” and the progress bar will appear. When the progress screen shows compleon, a
screen will be shown stang successful compleon of the patch. Click “Exit” to complete the installaon.
10. If installing on individual nodes, repeat these steps for each node.
11. Aer successful installaon on all nodes, reboot all nodes and make sure that Oracle services are started successfully on
all nodes.
Remaining Clusterware Patch Steps
Aer installaon of all other Oracle9i soware, the Oracle GSD, DBCA, and OLM ulies sll need to be patched from the Cluster-
ware patchset, and the Oracle Object Service needs to be restarted.. Use the following steps to complete these patches:
1. Patch the GSD by copying les from the E:\oracle_stage\ocfs9205\3575688\srvm\gsd directory.
a. Copy les into the following target directories:
%ORACLE_HOME%\bin\orasrvm.dll
%ORACLE_HOME%\bin\gsd.exe
%ORACLE_HOME%\bin\gsdservice.exe
%ORACLE_HOME%\jlib\srvm.jar
b. Open a command line window on each node. Install the GSD service by running the following command on each
node: “gsdservice –install”
2. To setup automac startup of the GSD service perform the following steps:
a. Select Start -> Sengs -> Control Panel -> Administrave Tools ->Services.
b. Select “OracleGSD Service” from the list and select “Properes” from the “Acon” menu.
c. In the “Properes” window, select the “Log On” tab and select “Log On As” -> “This Account”. Enter the user
name and password for an OS user who is a member of the Local Administrator and ORA_DBA groups. Make sure
that you dene the Local Administrator as a member of the ORA_DBA group before going any further.
d. Repeat these steps on each node
3. Patch the DBCA ulity by copying les from the
E:\oracle_stage\ocfs9205\3575688\srvm\dbca directory to the following targets:
%ORACLE_HOME%\assistants\jlib\assistantsCommon.jar
%ORACLE_HOME%\assistants\dbca\jlib\dbca.jar
