Run the 9.2.0.5 Cluster Setup Wizard
You are now ready to run the rst step in the install process. Since this step does not use the Oracle Universal Installer, you may
install from one node without diculty. You have the opon of choosing a shared directory for soware installaon or local
directories. If local directories are chosen, the Cluster Setup wizard will automacallycopy the les to all other nodes. Use the
following procedure:
1. Open a command prompt window.
2. In the command prompt window, navigate to the E:\oracle_stage\ocfs9205\3575688\preinstall_rac\clustersetup
directory.
3. Enter “clustersetup” to start the Oracle Cluster Wizard.
4. Click “Next” in the Welcome page.
5. The only opon available on a fresh install is to “Create a cluster”. Click “Next”.
6. Choose the “Use private network for interconnect” opon and click “Next”.
7. In the Network Conguraon page, enter the following:
a. Enter the cluster name.
b. Enter the public hostnames for all nodes. Enter the private hostnames for all nodes.
c. Click “Next”.
8. In the Cluster File System Opons page, choose “CFS for Datales only” if you want to use separate ORACLE_HOME
directories on each node. If you want to use a shared ORACLE_HOME, choose “CFS for Oracle Home and Datales”. Click
“Next”.
9. If you chose “CFS for Oracle Home and Datales”, you will see the “CFS for Oracle Home” page. choose a drive leer, and
then choose a paron. Make sure it is at least 4.0 GB in size.
10. In the “CFS for Datales” page, choose a drive leer, and then choose a paron. Make sure it is at least .0 GB in size.
Click “Next”.
11. In the VIA Detecon screen, choose “no”. Dell uses gigabit Ethernet as the interconnect mechanism. Click “Next”.
12. In the “Install Locaon” screen, accept the default of the WIN_HOME\system32\osd9i directory. Click “Finish”.
You may track the installaon progress in the Cluster Setup window. The Wizard closes automacally if the installaon completes
without error. To verify a successful installaon, use the Disk Manger Administrave tool to view the OCFS drive(s). The OCFS drive(s)
should be visible from all nodes. In addion, you should use the Services tool to check that the following three services are running
on each node:
• OracleClusterVolumeService
• Oracle Object Service
• OracleCMService9i
As a nal step, check the log les for errors under WIN_HOME\system32\osd9i.
