Trailer Brake Controller (TBC)
• FactoryinstalledandwarrantedbyFordMotorCompany
• Fullyintegratedintotheinstrumentpanelandthe
brake system of the truck
• Ensuressmoothandeffectivetrailerbrakingby
powering the electric brakes of the trailer with an output
proportional to the towing vehicle’s brake pressure
• Thecontrolleradaptsoutputbasedonthestatusof
the Anti-lock Braking System (ABS)
• WhentheABSmodulesensesthebrakesofthe
towing vehicle are approaching lockup, the trailer
braking strategy of the controller changes to
compensate for traction conditions, reducing the risk
of trailer brake lockup
• Providesinstantvisualandaudiblewarningsincase
of accidental trailer disconnect
• Includesthefollowinguserindicatorsinthe

NOTE: Ford Trailer Brake Controller (TBC) has verified
compatibilitywithtrailers(onetofouraxles)utilizing
electrically actuated drum brakes and certain Electric-
Over-Hydraulic (EOH) actuated drum or disc brake
systems. See the chart below for Ford-verified brands
and model numbers of TBC-compatible EOH brake
systems. There may be other EOH brake systems not
shown in the chart. Those systems have not been
Ford compatibility-tested with the TBC and are not
recommended for use. Ford TBC is not compatible with
any trailer equipped with a surge-type brake system.
