Maintenance
• Itisrecommendedusingbiodieselfuelthatisno
greater than 20 percent (B20) to ensure optimum
fuel economy. Customers should follow the Special
Service maintenance schedule if using ASTM D7467
Grade S15 biodiesel fuel
• Thefuel-waterseparatorshouldbedrainedmonthly
to avoid possible water in the fuel injectors
• Engineblockheatershouldbeusedattemperatures
below -10 degrees Fahrenheit (-23 degrees Celsius)
to ensure proper engine lubrication on start-up
• CJ-4servicestandardoilmustbeusedwhenthe
engine oil is serviced
• Vehiclesequippedwiththe6.7LPowerStroke
V8 turbo diesel engine come equipped with an
Intelligent Oil Life Monitor in the instrument cluster
Message Center that calculates the proper engine oil
change service interval based on vehicle use. When
an oil change service is needed, the Message Center
will display either ENGINE OIL CHANGE SOON or OIL
CHANGE REQUIRED

up and driving habits are critical to achieving accurate fuel economy data.
