Appendix C -

Programming Procedures

All of the following procedures should only be carried out on a C1TP/C5CC board set by trained

engineers during repair or production.

Programmable Logic

Note: These instructions assume the use of programming adapter X3PA.

1) Fit a jumper link across J1 on the C1TP board.

2) Connect the programming adapter to P3 on the C1TP board.

3) Ensure that the JTAG programmer is switched on and the USB lead is connected

to the PC.

4) Supply power to the C1TP/C5C board set.

To program the CPLD:

1) Double-click on the PLDProg Manager icon;

2) Select Design->Select; Ensure that tv_xpress_cpld is highlighted then click OK;

3) Select Program->Options and click on the ‘Option’ drop-down in Device

Properties;

4) Select “No Write protect” and click OK;

5) Select Program->Select ; Ensure that c1t21_ic5_auto_prog is selected and click

OK;

6) Select Program->Download to program the CPLD;

7) Once the device is programmed correctly, a green Download Status Window

should be displayed with the text “c1t21_ic5_auto_prog - Successful”

To program the bootloader:

1) Double-click on the “FlashProg Manager” icon;

2) Select Design->Select; Ensure that tv_xpress_ash is highlighted and click OK;

3) Select Flash->Execute Script; Select the only available script “Erase_Program_

Verify” and click Execute Script.

A “Script Running” window will display the progress of erase, write and verify operation.

Once programmed the debug window will display “Operation Complete”.
