Repeat Timeout (ms) This setting stops the software reporting the same number
plate twice.
A repeat plate reading is not reported during the selected timeout
period. For example, a vehicle may be required to halt at an entry
checkpoint. If it is deemed acceptable that the vehicle should in
usual circumstances have cleared this checkpoint within 10 seconds,
10000ms should be entered to prevent the vehicle’s details being
reported again within this time period.
Note: The time is entered in milliseconds (ms).
Max plate size (pixels) A limit can be set for the maximum number of pixels within the
image that the target number plate assumes. Above this limit, the
ANPR software will not attempt to interpret the number plate. The
recommended maximum setting is 50000 pixels.
Min plate size (pixels) A limit can be set for the minimum number of pixels within the
image that the target number plate assumes. Below this limit, the
ANPR software will not attempt to interpret the number plate. The
recommended minimum setting is 1000 pixels.
Region The ANPR software can be congured to most effectively read the
various styles of number plates used throughout the world. It is
important that the software be congured for the standard number
plate format used in your territory. The appropriate region should be
selected along with a list of selected countries. Countries are added
to the Selected Countries list from the Available Countries list by using
the ‘>’ button.
Similarly countries are removed from the selected list using the ‘<’
button. All available countries can be added/removed via the ‘>>’ and
‘<<’ buttons. The list of countries can be reordered using the ‘+’ and ‘-’
buttons. The order determines the priority in which syntax checking is
applied when performing a plate reading.
