The unit supports the option to include text information, received from a peripheral device, alongside
the recorded video. The images can then be searched on the text data, for review via web page.
Camera
Each camera can be individually congured. Select the relevant camera by pressing the
corresponding camera key.
Port Assignment
It is possible to select any of the serial ports on the unit (ensure these are enabled for Text in Image
in the System - Serial Ports & Telemetry menu) or connect to the network. The Digital Sprite 2 will
then record this text along with associated video. This function is used to assign a ‘port’ on the digital
recorder as a text source. When a Serial port is selected use the key to move to the Serial Ports &
Telemetry menu (refer to Setup Guide).
Text Filter
The text lter is used to remove certain characters or format the text in a specic way. The text lter
options are as follows:
Option Action
RAW Minimal ltering, text is displayed as it comes in with the exception
of Carriage Return characters that force a new line.
Plain text (default) Like RAW text, but acts upon carriage returns, line feeds, and
converts TAB characters into spaces.
EPSON Mimics an EPSON printer.
Laserjet Mimics a HP Laserjet printer.
DM POS Receipt Use this option when using Dedicated Micros POS Interface Unit
in receipt mode.
