Deck & Wood Brightener Part 2, functions as two products. It is a brightener for weathered wood or hardwoods
and is a finish preparation for new or weathered wood. Use on decking, outdoor wood furniture, wood siding and fencing.
DESCRIPTION AND USES
When combined with warm water, Deck & Wood Brightener Part
2 concentrate rapidly and safely restores dirty, weathered-gray,
mildew and mold stained wood to its natural, like-new appearance.
It additionally removes rust stains from screw or nail bleed and dark
tannin stains from tannin-rich woods such as Redwoods, Cedar and
exotic South American hardwoods. In only minutes, Deck & Wood
Brightener Part 2 - a chlorine-free formula - deep cleans without
harming the wood’s cellular structure or leaving a bleached out
appearance. It also erases left over traces of aged water sealers from
weathered lumber and unseen finish barriers such as “mill glaze”
from brand new wood, allowing proper adhesion and penetration of
protective finishes and stains. The formulation restores the wood’s pH
balance following cleaning and is a 100% biodegradable formulation
which will not hurt lawn grass or surrounding plant life.

RECOMMENDED USES
FOR EXTERIOR USE ONLY
Use Deck & Wood Brightener Part 2 to restore or prepare outdoor
wood decks, porches, fences, siding, shakes & shingles, outdoor
furniture & décor, boat docks, boardwalks, gazebos and arbors, play
sets and more.
WOOD TYPES: Use on all types of wood including pressure-treated
lumber, thermally modified softwoods, and tannin-rich woods such as
Cedar, Redwood and exotic hardwoods such as Mahogany, Teak, Ipé,
Cumaru, Tigerwood, etc..
Note: When newer generation pressure-treated wood (non-CCA) is
installed, it may develop mildew during the first few months. In order
to reduce and prevent mildew discoloration let the wood weather for
1-3 months prior to applying a protective finish.
SURFACE PREPARATION
Before you begin, pre-rinse grass, vegetation and shrubbery
surrounding your wood structure. Cover and protect any exposed
aluminum surfaces to prevent corrosion. Cleanse away any surface
dust, dirt and debris. If the surface is in direct sunlight and hot to the
touch, dampen with fresh water.
PRODUCT APPLICATION
Coverage:
When Brightener is combined with water, 1 jar of concentrate will
make 5 gallons of solution. This is enough to cover approximately 750
square feet depending on lumber age and variety, surface porosity,
and means of application. One 1 gallon of solution will cover around
125-150 square feet.
Mixing:
Always use in a well ventilated
area and ONLY as directed. DILUTE
BEFORE USE. In a 5 gallon bucket
(plastic), combine 1/3rd cup of
concentrate powder with 1 gallon
of warm water. 5 gallons solution is
enough to clean/prepare roughly 750
square feet. Each gallon of solution
brightens approximately 125-150
square feet of wooden surface.
Stir briskly for 1 minute or until
brightening solution is thoroughly
combined. Never mix with any other
products.
Apply:
Ensure the entire wood surface is
free of dust, dirt and debris. If the
surface is too hot to touch or in
direct sun, dampen with fresh water
to cool. (Deck & Wood Cleaner Part
1 is recommended prior to using the
Brightener.) Apply once outdoors
temperature is over 40°F (4°C) and
when 24 hrs of precipitation-free
weather conditions are anticipated.
On horizontal surfaces, apply the
brightening solution with a stiff non-
metal brush, hand pump sprayer or
mop. On any vertical wood surface
(siding or fencing), apply with a hand
pump sprayer or deep-nap paint
roller. Work from the bottom up to
the top moving end-to-end on only
5 to 10 boards at a time. Continually
maintain sufficient surface wetness
to permit concentration of the
brightening time. Let the solution
rest for 10 minutes, keeping it wet with more solution as needed
depending on stains.
Applications:
Apply one 1 coat, and let sit to foam for recommended duration of
10 minutes. Heavily stained areas might need a second scrubbing of
solution. (Continued on next page.)
