WHEN COMPARED TO SIMILAR PRODUCTS
One of the worst parts of deck ownership is walking barefoot on a hot deck surface.
Deck-Top provides a unique surface that is always cool on your feet, even in direct
sunlight. Deck-Top is made with special agents called “heat stabilizers” that join together
with PVC compounds to prevent the heat-caused degradation of plastics. Besides
staying cool, these additives prevent any material breakdown that would normally be
caused by nature’s elements.
CONCERNED ABOUT MOISTURE & WOOD ROT?
Deck-Top is frequently asked, “Will Deck-Top trap moisture and rot my wood?” The
answer is simply no, and here’s a picture to prove it! This picture shows what a piece of
5/4” treated wood looks like after being covered with PVC for over 10 years. Notice how
the wood shows no signs of splitting, cracking, or rotting? That’s because Deck-Top
protects your wood from the true source of decay – the sun. The sun’s harmful UVA and
UVB rays can wreak havoc on wooden structures, but when covered with PVC, your
deck or dock’s lifespan is significantly extended.
If you’re still concerned about damage from trapped moisture, just know that Deck-Top
is also designed with special spacing to mitigate any potentially trapped moisture. As
moisture collects under Deck-Top, moisture migration will occur naturally via cellular
respiration on key areas not covered by Deck-Top; namely from the sides, ends, and
undersides of the planks. This ensures that moisture will not get trapped in between
the planks and cause damage or wood rot to your understructure.

6”, or 2” x 6” decking boards in either wood or composite materials. Deck-Top is
engineered to allow wood or composites and PVC to perform in harmony with each
other by combining the best features of both.
Deck-Top PVC decking products and recommended glues have been professionally
tested to ensure complete adherence in hot humid and cold weather climates. With
the proper adhesive, Deck-Top will bond to structurally sound wood or composite
materials - even when your structure is weathered or aged in appearance.
