6.0 General settings (P1)
To customize the instrument to the application, some of the factory settings (defaults) can be
changed. These adjustments will be saved in the microprocessor and be recalled when you
switch on the force gauge the next time. To enter the setting menues the instruments display
has to show the initial screen [ - - . - - ] In order to change the setting you press the S-Button for
app. 2 second until the code P1 is displayed. Press the I-Button to choose the submenu. Press
the 0-Button to access the sub-submenue, a short press on the S-buttons returns to the higher
menue level, a longer press on the S-button in the main operation menue.
6.1 Display dimensional units (P11)
In menu P11 you can select the measuring unit by pressing the I-Button. The chosen unit fla-
shes in the display. Default setting is the SI-dimension Newton (N). Pressing the 0-Button you
change to the next submenu.

6.2 Changing +/- prex for push or pull operation (P12)
The submenue P12 allows to change the +/- prefix by pressing the I- button. Default is pull with
negative prefix ( - ).

6.3 Display refresh rate (P13)
The load cell captured the force with a rate of 3,6kHz. The display update is limited to 10Hz in
order to make the display readable. You may reduce this rate by selecting an appropriate value
with the I-Button. Pressing the 0-Button you change to the next submenu.

6.4 Auto-Stop (Measuring stop) (P14)
The measurement will be stopped automatically if no new force values are captured for 5 se-
conds. You may change this period by pressing the I-Button. Pressing the 0-Button you change
to the next submenu.

6.5 Auto-Off (Instrument off) (P15)
When operated without the USB interface cable connected (FMI-S30 only) and not in the set-
ting mode, the instrument switches off automatically it no buttons are pressed for 2 minutes.
You may change this period entering the submenue P15 and pushing the I-Button.
