NOTE: The following pictures, except the last

one, were made using a piece of 1"x4" lumber

for ease of demonstrating this method. The

pine board is clamped to a piece of redwood to

avoid drilling into the table top with the various

drill bits and pilot bit in the hole saw.

Determine the location of the desired

center of the recessed portion of the tie

down after installation. In this example,

the long direction of the recessed portion

is up and down.

Mark and center punch two spots 3/4"

apart at this location.
