Communication
Dependingonthegatewayorcontrollerthebeltstationispairedwith,operationwillvary.Inall
casestheuserwillhearhisownvoice(sidetone)onlywhenthebeltstationisconnectedtoa
controllerorgatewayandVOXisproperlyadjusted.Sidetone provides
feedbackfortheuserto
knowheisconnectedandisbeingheardbytheremoteusersaswell.Ingeneral,ifyoucanhear
yourownvoice,theotheruserscanhearyouaswell.
Range
Therangeofabeltstationandacontroller/gatewaycanbeupto
300ft(100m).Ifyouareinan
environmentwithmetalorconcretewalls,thisrange couldbereduced.Whenthebeltstation
travelsoutofrangeofthecontroller/gateway,avoicealertwillindicatethattheconnectionhas
beenlost.Toreconnect,simplymovebackintorangeandconnectionwith
the
controller/gatewaywillautomaticallybereestablished.
PTT
TheLINK/PTTbuttonallowstheusertoactivateadditionalfunctionalitysuchastospeakovera
two‐wayradioortoanaircraftintercom.PTTwillalsooverridetheVOXsetting(seeVOX).For
moreinformationseetheusermanualforthe
appropriatecontrollerorgateway.
LowBattery
Undertypicalcondi tions,thebatteryinthebeltstationwilllastupto24hoursorlonger.Avoice
alertwillindicatetotheuserthatthebatteryisrunninglow.AdditionallytheStatusLEDwillturn
red.Approximately1hourofoperationremains.

Insomecircumstancesitmaybenecessaryto“purge”theU9910 ‐BSWofitsknowncontrolleror
gateway.Typicallypurgingisnotnecessaryunlesstherearemultiplecontrollersorgatewaysin
thesamevicinityandyouwishtolinkabeltstationtoadifferentcontrollerorgateway.Abelt
stationcanbelinkedtoonlyonecontrollerorgatewayatatime.
PurgeProcedure
1. Powerdownbeltstation(seePower‐up/Power‐down).
2. PressandholdLINK/PTTbutton.Donotrelease.
3. Powerupthebeltstation(seePower‐up/Power‐down).
4. ReleasePOWERbutton.
5. Release
