7.9.1HeatControl
Inadditiontosettemptheusermayalsoselectoneoffourheatcontrolsettings. Thesettempdeterminesthe
maximumtemperaturebeforethespawillstopheatingthewater
,whereastheheatcontrolsettingdetermineshow
farthetemperaturemustdropbeforeheatingresumesagain.Inotherwords,theheatcontrolsettingdetermines
howcloselythespawillmaintainthepooltemperaturetothesettemperature.
Thefouravailablesettingsareasfollows:
Thenumbersassociatedwitheachsettinginthetablereflecttheactualdecreaseinpooltemperaturebelowtheset
pointbeforeheatingwillbegin(hysteresis). Twosetsofvaluesarelisted:0.25-1.00and2.50-4.00.Generallythe
firstsetisused,howeverifyoudonothaveanin-pooltemperaturesensoror24hourcirculationpumpfittedthe
secondsetwillbeusedinstead.
Thereisadirectcompromisebetweenhowoftenthespacycleson/offandhowcloselythetemperatureismaintained
tothesettemperature.Usingthe “tight” settingwillmaintainthetemperatureverycloselytothesettemperaturebut
indoingsoitwillalsocausethespatocycleon/offfrequently.Conversely,usingthe “extraloose” settingwillcausea
largervariationinpooltemperaturebutthespawillcyclemuchlessfrequently.
Exactlyhowoftenthespawillcycleon/offateachsettingisacomplexfunctionofambientconditionsandthethermal
characteristicsofyourspa-settemp,spabodyinsulation,coverinsulation,heaterratingetc.Itisrecommendedthat
youstartwiththedefault “normal” settingandonlychangetoanothersettingifyouwouldpreferadifferent
compromiseofcyclingfrequencyandtemperaturevariation.
7.9.2ChangingTheHeatControlSetting
1) Selectthe ADV.OPTIONSsubmenufromthemainmenu.
2)
SelecttheHEAT CONTROL menuitem.
3) PresstheSCROLL buttontobeginheatcontrolsettingselection.
4) UsetheUP andDOWNbuttonstoselectheatcontrolsetting(refertable).
5) PresstheSCROLL buttontoconfirmthecurrentsettingandreturntothe ADV.OPTIONSsubmenu.
Notes
1) Whenthepoolisinusethehysteresisisautomaticallylimitedtoamaximumof0.50degreesCelsiustoensure
thewaterdoesn'tgettoocold.
2) Thestartofafiltrationcyclewillalwaystriggerheatingifthetemperatureisbelowthesetpointregardlessofthe
heatcontrolsetting.
7.9.3HighHeatOffset
Thehighheatoffsetsettingallowsyoutoconfigurehowfarbelowthesetpointthewatertemperaturemustfallbefore
thehighsettingisused.Bydefaultthisfeatureisdisabledandthecontrollerwillattempttousethehighsetting
wheneverheatingisrequired.Notethathighheatmaynotalwaysbeavailableduetopossibleloadsheddingwhen
accessoriesareturnedon(dependsoninstallerconfiguration).
Rangeofadjustmentis0.00(default,of
f)to5.00instepsof0.25degreesCelsius. Atthemaximumsettingof5.00,
thepoolwatermustbefiveormoredegreesbelowthesettemperaturebeforethehighsettingwillbeused.
TheSP1200isequippedwithadualstageheater-lowandhigh. Thehighsettingusesthefullratedpowerofthe
elementwhereasthelowsettingusesapproximatelyhalfoftheratedpower. ThecolouroftheheaterLEDchanges
dependingonwhichsettingisused,itisredwhentheheaterisonhighandorangewhenonlow.

3PumpOperation
3.1Pump1 (Twospeed,no24HRcirculationpumpfitted)
Ifdesired,acleanupcyclecanbeinitiatedtofilterthewaterafterthepoolhasbeenused. Todothis,simplypress
thepumpon/offbuttontoleaveautomodeandswitchonthepump. Thiswillrunthepumpforafixedperiodoftime
(90minutes)circulatingthewaterthroughthefilter. Thesystemwillthenreturntoautomodeandmaintainthe
temperaturereadyforthenexttimethepoolisused.
Notes:
1) Theheaterwillturnonandoffasrequiredanytimepump1isrunningineitherPUMP AUTOorPUMP ON
States.
2) PUMP AUTOwillbeactivatedafter90minutesoftouchpadinactivity,ifleftinPUMP ONorPUMP OFF
states.
3.2Cleanupcycle
PressthepumpbuttontoenterPUMP LOWandfilterthewaterfor90minutes
Pump1iscontrolledviatwotouchpadbuttons-onetoturnthepumpon/of
fandanothertochangeitsspeed.When
thespaisrunninginPUMP AUTOmode,pressingeitherbuttonwilldeactivatethatmodeandsetthepumprunning
inlowspeed. ThepumpspeedselectedbythesebuttonsareshownforafewsecondsontheLCDdisplayaswell
asbeingindicatedbyseveralLEDs. TheautoLEDisgreenwhenPUMP AUTOmodeisenabledandoffwhenin
PUMP OFFmode,likewisethetwopumpbuttonLEDsaregreen,redoroffwhenthepumpison-low,on-highoroff
respectively.

TheHi/Lowspeedbuttonhasnoeffectinthismode.
LCDdisplays “PUMP AUTO”,autoLEDgreen. Thisisthedefaultstartupmodeinwhichpump1,heatingand
filtrationareautomaticallycontrolled.PressingtheHi/Lowspeedbuttonhasthesameeffectaspressingthe
On/Offbuttoninthismode.
