Turning the Synth Brass Sound into a String Pad
It’s a simple matter to turn the previous synth brass sound into a string
pad by simply adjusting its envelope and lter settings.
To turn the synth brass into a string pad:
1. In the filter section, set the cutoff to 87.
2. In the filter envelope section, set the env amount to 7.
3. Set lter envelope attack to 52, decay to 102, sustain to 81, and
release to 100
4. Set amplier envelope attack to 73, decay to 62, sustain to 127, and
release to 80.
5. Play some chords. You’ve now got a good basic string pad.
Adding Effects to the String Pad
You can enhance the string pad adding an effect such as phasing for a
retro feel.
To add effects to the string pad:
1. In the effects section, press the effect 1 button.
2. Turn the effect type knob and select phaser.
3. Set mix to 64, then set parameter 1 (depth) to 92, parameter 2 (rate) to
9, and parameter 3 (feedback) to 255.
4. Play some chords. Classic string machine! For even more dramatic
phasing, set mix to 127.
